Russell Blyth Received a SLU Spark

Congratulations to Russell Blyth on the SLU Spark nomination. Russell was nominated by Kathryn Dortch for serving others.

"I am a new employee here at Saint Louis University and of course I have no sense of direction once-so-ever at the moment. I parked my car in the Olive/Compton lot in order to attend orientation and I was looking at the campus map, sweating buckets because I could not find DuBourg. Then out of nowhere, I hear a kind voice asking me if I need help finding something - it was Dr. Russell Blyth. Dr. Blyth then escorted me to show me where DuBourg was and on the way gave me a very interesting history lesson about some of the buildings. I really think this act of kindness nods to the overall culture here at SLU - approachable, caring and always willing to help. I will never forget Dr. Blyth's kindness and am so lucky to work at such an institution where people/fellow employees come first. Thank you for your help Dr. Blyth!"

Mike has not only patiently taught me much about the process, he consistently goes above the call of duty to work these tickets.  One example is when I had a VPN request for a Grad student who was away at training, and needed the VPN in a pinch to access the software she was being trained on.  I expedited the the ticket via email to the manager and Mike picked it up.  He not only granted the access immediately, he contacted the user to let her know, and also contacted the student's Biology Professor who sent her to the training, to let him know the status.  And he saw it through with the user.  His work ethic is outstanding, and I've seen this on a regular basis with Mike.  I truly feel he is the best at his job and should be promoted.
