Taylor Glueck Received a SLU Spark

Congratulations to Taylor Glueck on the SLU Spark nomination. Taylor was nominated by Patrick Cousins for serving others.

"Taylor is always above-and-beyond helpful, but in particular her assistance reserving spaces for a Campus Ministry symposium was truly indispensable -- we could not have made the week come together without her repeated efforts to find the right spaces for our events. Taylor is uniformly cheerful, helpful, and generous and deserves to be recognized for her consistently excellent and collegial contribution to our work."

Jennifer Bussen Received a SLU Spark

Congratulations Jennifer Bussen on the SLU Spark nomination. Jennifer was nominated by Matthew Heaton for serving others.

"Jennifer was the only administrative assistant in her division while they were filling vacancy. She took on more roles and made sure everything stayed afloat. She made sure that all the physicians and patients didn't feel a difference during a nearly twelve week period. On top of that, she treated everyone with the kindness she's know for."

Carie Rakers Received a SLU Spark

Congratulations Carie Rakers on the SLU Spark nomination. Carie was nominated by Tonya Vernon for serving others.

"I cannot say enough good things about Carie Rakers!  Carie manages a large department's IT needs and is constantly putting out fires and trying to help anyone and everyone...literally, because I know I contact IT on behalf of our division almost on a daily basis with some type of request.  She is great at her job, provides wonderful service to her colleagues, and I appreciate everything she does to keep our division running. She brings positive energy with her whenever she comes to our floor and is a joy to work with. I don't know what we would do without her!"

Mike Martin Received a SLU Spark!

Congratulations Mike Martin on the SLU Spark nomination. Mike was nominated by Jennifer Barfield for pursuing excellence.

"I work with Mike's service request tickets that start with my team then go to his. Mike has not only patiently taught me much about the process, he consistently goes above the call of duty to work these tickets.  One example is when I had a VPN request for a Grad student who was away at training, and needed the VPN in a pinch to access the software she was being trained on.  I expedited the the ticket via email to the manager and Mike picked it up.  He not only granted the access immediately, he contacted the user to let her know, and also contacted the student's Biology Professor who sent her to the training, to let him know the status.  And he saw it through with the user.  His work ethic is outstanding, and I've seen this on a regular basis with Mike.  I truly feel he is the best at his job and should be promoted. (Thanks Mike for all you do!)"

"It is the last work day before the Fall semester begins and I submitted to Mike Martin our PaperCut copy limits for the History Department. I know it is a tedious task but by the end of the day, it was complete. I was very happy to receive his email stating it was complete. It is nice to have a team player. Thank you very much!"

Aimee Walker Received a SLU Spark!

Congratulations Aimee Walker on the SLU Spark nomination. Aimee was nominated by Teresa Hudson for pursuing excellence.

"In the midst of so much chaos in dealing with the new and ever-changing EHR procedure, Aimee is my calm in this storm and she did not hesitate to help solve my issues.  She went several steps further:  1. She listened; 2. She absorbed all the negative energy and remained composed; 3. She understood my frustration; 4. She returned phone calls and emails; 5. She made helpful suggestions to resolve my many issues; 6. She followed up!!!"

Aimee Walker Received a SLU Spark!

Congratulations Aimee Walker on the SLU Spark nomination. Aimee was nominated by Melissa Hummel for pursuing excellence.

"I would like to nominate Aimee Walker.  Aimee has been a great resource to me with getting my incoming residents access to EPIC.  The online ITS Service Request is not very user friendly and I was able to reach out to Aimee to help with getting my residents the access that they needed in a very timely manner.  She is very professional and very responsive to requests.  I wish to recognize her efforts during this very hectic time for residents and relay how important this is to patient care.  Great job, Aimee!!?

Angie Williams Received a SLU Spark!

Congratulations Angie Williams on the SLU Spark nomination. Angie was nominated by Alexis Bruce-Staudt for pursuing excellence.

"Angie is an integral part of the team in assisting us with the InfoEd implementation.  She is quick and responsive to our needs in configuring the system as the administrator, as well as diligently working behind the scenes to pull data from our current system, map data fields, and coordinate with different collaborators and contractors to keep our process moving smoothly.  I truly appreciate having her on our team and her perseverance to keep pushing this project through!"

Keith McCune Received a SLU Spark!

Congratulations Keith McCune on the SLU Spark nomination. Keith was nominated by Scott Martin, Ph.D. for pursuing excellence.

"Monsanto Hall (home of chemistry department) had a transformer go out and we had to be on generator power for 2 weeks. Keith McCune worked tirelessly to help our department make it through this ordeal.  Our department has over $1 million in instrumentation that needs power and cryogens. Keith and his team worked nights and weekends to make sure our department was able to still teach and perform research.  I think this is a great example of academics and facilities working together for a common goal.  Their dedication is much appreciated by the faculty and students in our department."
