Congratulations to Sherry Hahn, Communication, who received a SLU Spark! Sherry was recognized by Cynthia Graville, Communication, for showing compassion.
"Sherry has gone above and beyond in the facilitation of hiring teen interns for the STEM Literacy through Infographics project. Interns are recruited from communities that are traditionally underserved by university opportunities, have barriers to traditional banking, and limited consistent phone and email access. Sherry's thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and compassion for minimizing institutional barriers to participation in the internship and guiding these young people through the complicated maze of paperwork has been remarkable. She has been a commendable front-line ambassador for these teens who are too often marginalized, and she inherently understood and enacted the idea that even in routine paperwork, phone calls, and processes we can serve others towards a collective Jesuit identity."
