Katherine Jolly, Assistant Professor of Music, Fine and Performing Arts, served as a guest singer and teacher at Johnson Wabash Elementary School in Ferguson, Missouri. Through the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Education and Community Engagement, pianist Gail Ginz, Opera Theatre of St. Louis Director of Education, Allison Felter, and Katherine visited the fourth grade classes on March 9th.
Katherine said "I performed several opera arias for the students followed by a question and answer session, and a lesson in singing. Opera Theatre St. Louis is working with Johnson Wabash Elementary School; the students will be writing their own opera and have a chance to participate in an OTSL opera camp this summer free of charge."
