Congratulations to Deanna Miller, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology, who received a SLU Spark! Deanna was recognized by Kathy Barbeau, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology, for serving others.
"Deanna Miller along with her office counterpart Riley Coyle took up the banner this year to organize the Dept of Molecular Microbiology & Immunology "Turkeypalozza Food Drive". They sent out notices to department members, put up signs, collected food and money donations. Deanna and Riley took the cash donations and shopped for dinner supplies- 17 fresh turkeys, cranberry, rolls, potatoes and all other supplies that were requested by the campus kitchen. This is a tradition for our department started by the office manager many years ago. The office manager was out of the office and these 2 individuals decided to carry on the good work of the past. Because of their efforts many individuals served by the campus kitchen received hot Thanksgiving dinners!"
